Job Overview

Position: Truck Driver

Location: 2705 Slough Street, Mississauga, ON, L4T 1G2

Work Type: Permanent, Full-time, On-site

Salary: $34.50 to $37.00 per hour (to be negotiated)

Hours: 40 to 60 hours per week

Visa Sponsorship Available

Our client accepts applications from Canadian citizens, permanent or temporary residents of Canada, and other candidates, with or without a valid Canadian work permit. Immigration support may be provided for qualified applicants.

Responsibilities

• Drive lighter, special purpose trucks.
• Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
• Perform brake adjustments.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs.
• Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, overseeing all vehicle aspects.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Tarp and ensure the safety and security of cargo.

Requirements

Education

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience

Experience is an asset.

Licenses and Certifications

• AZ class license
• Air Brakes Endorsement
• Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)

Skills

Documentation Knowledge

• Inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
• Maintenance and repair reports
• Trip reports

Communication Systems Experience

• Operate GPS and other navigation equipment
