Position Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Services Representative. This role is designed for individuals eager to thrive in an entrepreneurial work environment that utilizes cutting-edge industrial wear protection technology.

Primary Responsibility

The Technical Services Representative will play a crucial role in the Wear Services Business Unit. Key responsibilities include delivering comprehensive wear management solutions to targeted accounts in the mining industry, leveraging advanced technologies and services to expand the market presence in the Abitibi Gold Belt Region.

Key Responsibilities

Market Development:

  • Drive the growth of wear services including CDP wearplate, CastoChrome, Castodur, LaserClad, and complementary products.
  • Target key accounts across the mining, construction, and fabrication industries.

    • Strategic Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with services teams, product managers, and marketing to identify market opportunities and develop market penetration strategies.

    • Customer Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and end users in various heavy industries.
  • Understand customer needs and deliver tailored solutions.

    • Business Development:

  • Identify prospects and assess existing customer needs that align with the company’s service capabilities.
  • Develop strategies for new customer acquisition and the expansion of existing customers.

    • Maintenance of Opportunity Pipeline:

  • Maintain an updated opportunity pipeline within Dynamics CRM.

    • Technical Support:

  • Provide technical, design, and product support to customers, addressing wear-related queries and assisting with proposals and quotes.

    • Market Intelligence:

  • Monitor competitor activities and pricing, providing feedback to inform strategic decisions.

    • Business Planning:

  • Develop and implement objectives, strategies, and business plans to achieve growth targets.

    • Cross-Regional Collaboration:

  • Maintain contact with other regions to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.

    • Performance Accountability:

  • Ensure sales volumes, revenue targets, and improved gross profit margins are achieved for Wear Services.

    • Administration

  • Contribute to the development of a Services Growth Strategic Plan.
  • Communicate and support the resolution of critical business issues.
  • Represent the company at marketing events, trade shows, and training workshops.
  • Keep documentation updated in CRM and complete weekly expense reports.
  • Complete other tasks as required.

    • Education and Experience

  • Engineering degree in Materials or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5-10 years of relevant industrial sales experience, ideally in wear services.
  • Strong understanding of wear management solutions in heavy industries.

    • Skills and Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of maintenance and repair welding techniques.
  • Hunter mentality with experience in cold-calling.
  • Understanding of key clients and their positions in the industry.
  • Mechanical aptitude: ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent consultative communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong time management abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.

    • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time.
