Your Opportunity

Our client’s Power System Studies Center of Excellence is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to serve as a Technical Lead in Electromagnetic Transient Power System Studies (EMT). In this role, you will oversee a team of engineers conducting EMT studies for various power systems, including those utilizing renewables and energy storage.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct project leadership on EMT power system studies, including developing methodologies, preparing models, analyzing results, and drafting reports.
  • Meet with clients to report on project progress and results.
  • Ensure high-quality project deliverables are prepared on time and within budget.
  • Participate in business development activities and prepare proposals.
  • Manage client relations regarding business development activities and work assignments.
  • Stay informed on current and emerging industry trends and contribute to technical proposal preparation.
  • Provide mentorship to technical team members and assist in training requirements.

    • Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Expert experience in power system studies, particularly in EMT analysis.
  • Proficient in power system analysis software, with a strong background in PSCAD.
  • Ability to manage projects independently while ensuring high standards of quality.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly in technical contexts.
  • International experience in power system planning studies is an asset.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

    • Education and Experience

  • MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng and/or PE) required.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience as an electrical engineer, focusing on EMT studies for generation, transmission, renewable energy, and HVDC systems.
