Position Overview

Our client, a prominent organization in the retail and grocery sector, is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in strategic recruitment and enhance employer branding initiatives. This role is perfect for a seasoned recruitment professional who thrives on both strategy and execution. You’ll play a key role in identifying top talent, improving the candidate experience, and providing comprehensive recruitment support across a high-volume, multi-location environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and participate in recruitment events including info sessions, job fairs, and community outreach efforts with local employment agencies and educational institutions.
• Collaborate closely with hiring managers and internal teams to identify workforce needs and recommend effective sourcing strategies.
• Coordinate and execute the entire hiring process: from drafting job postings, screening applicants, arranging interviews, to managing offers and onboarding.
• Develop and maintain robust talent pipelines for both immediate and future hiring needs.
• Contribute to recruitment marketing and employer branding efforts to attract high-caliber candidates.
• Ensure recruitment practices comply with provincial employment standards and best practices.
• Maintain accurate records of hiring activities and candidate interactions.
• Respond to candidate inquiries across channels in a timely and professional manner.
• Participate in broader HR initiatives and projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in recruitment or HR generalist roles, ideally in a fast-paced environment such as retail or hospitality.
• Multilingual abilities, particularly in Mandarin or Cantonese, are required.
• Familiarity with recruitment marketing tools and digital platforms (LinkedIn, Indeed, social media).
• Strong understanding of BC and Alberta employment legislation; exposure to LMIA or international hiring processes is an asset.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across all organizational levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc.).
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• A valid Class 5 BC driver’s license is preferred.
