Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sports Bar and Restaurant Manager to oversee operations at a busy, family-friendly restaurant and sports bar in Sedgewick, Alberta. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, customer-focused, and able to lead a team in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

In line with NOC 60030, the manager will:

• Plan, organize, and control daily operations of the restaurant and bar
• Supervise and coordinate staff activities, including hiring, training, and performance reviews
• Monitor inventory, order supplies, and maintain food and beverage stock levels
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and provincial liquor regulations
• Maintain high standards of customer service and resolve complaints promptly
• Develop work schedules and monitor labour costs
• Implement marketing and promotional strategies to increase customer engagement
• Prepare budgets, track revenues, and manage financial reporting
• Liaise with kitchen staff and oversee food and beverage quality
• Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for staff and guests

Requirements

Education:

• Completion of secondary school is required
• Diploma or certificate in hospitality or business management is an asset

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of managerial experience in a full-service restaurant or bar

Language:

• English, fluent in both oral and written communication. Conversational Tagalog is an advantage

Additional Requirements:

• Knowledge of Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) regulations
• Strong leadership, organizational, and customer service skills
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
• Familiarity with POS systems, scheduling software, and inventory management
