Role Overview

As the Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A, you will be joining the Pensions team, reporting directly to the Associate Director, Pensions Centre of Excellence. You will lead the Pensions internal FP&A process, preparing department-level monthly financial analysis and communicating with the Pensions Executive Leadership Team. Additionally, you will be responsible for time-sensitive ad hoc analysis and projects for the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the internal forecasting and budgeting process for the Pensions team, encompassing various cost centers.
  • Present regular and/or monthly update summaries to the Pensions Executive Leadership Team, including program reports and analytical narratives.
  • Provide commentary, analysis, and insights to forecasting variances.
  • Monitor capital and operating expenses for various projects.
  • Maintain and track vendor and internal resource tracker and associated costs.
  • Support the invoice review and approval process, including notifying finance of approved invoices.
  • Prepare and distribute a variety of regular and ad-hoc management reports for current and future planning.
  • Act as a liaison between the Pensions team and other partners such as Finance and Procurement teams to resolve issues.
  • Assist with creating and tracking strategy and priorities deliverables including Operating Plan Budget story and ad hoc reporting deliverables.
  • Open to taking on other ad hoc operational tasks.
  • Prioritize raised issues and provide timely solutions.
  • Effectively prioritize and execute tasks within a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and discipline with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Act as a team player and commit to contributing to team effort.

    • Qualifications

  • Working towards or completed CPA certification.
  • Demonstrated expertise in budget preparation, financial analysis, and reporting.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness is essential along with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills, with the ability to consolidate financial data into clear and comprehensive reports.
  • Experience preparing financial information in a cross-functional multi-organizational project.
  • Excellent analytical abilities.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure accurate presentation of financial information.
  • A desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment with a willingness to contribute to program success.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting for the financial sector.
  • A university degree in Business or a related discipline.
