Main Purpose and Function

The primary purpose of this position is to investigate IT and business requirements; design, develop, document and support solutions; and apply knowledge of best-of-breed processes and procedures in SAP business applications. Responsibilities include:

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare documentation such as project charters and system requirements definitions.
• Design and maintain SAP Payroll/time configuration and schemas to meet business and operational requirements.
• Consult with customers to understand their requirements.
• Develop systems alternatives and recommend suitable options to assist customers.
• Manage projects through all phases from planning to maintenance and support.
• Perform testing of problem fixes and configuration changes to ensure system integrity.
• Deliver presentations on SAP-related solutions to customers and technical staff.
• Investigate and follow up on SAP system errors/problems, liaising with IT staff as necessary.
• Provide support for corporate and departmental reporting.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Related post-secondary degree, with a preference for a graduate degree in Computer Science or Business Administration.
• SAP Certification or equivalent training and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years implementing and supporting SAP Canadian payroll and HR modules.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of payroll and time entry processes.
• Experience with SAP reporting tools such as BW/BI.
• Proficiency in developing and delivering training courses and materials.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.

Flexible Work Arrangement

Where operationally appropriate, this position is eligible for a Flexible Work Program, allowing staff to work remotely 1 – 4 days a week from locations within a commutable distance.
