Job Overview

Our client is seeking a roofer for a permanent full-time position. We welcome applications from other candidates, with or without a valid Canadian work permit.

Job Details

• Location: North York, ON
• Salary: $40.43 to $51.48 hourly (To be negotiated) / 40 hours per week
• Terms of Employment: Permanent full-time
• Work Location: On site
• Vacancies: 5

Responsibilities

• Install built-up roofing systems using asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel.
• Install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles, shakes, and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs.
• Install single-ply roofing systems using waterproof sheet materials.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Repair or replace roofing systems, shingles, and shakes.
• Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers.
• Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools.
• Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms.

Work Environment

• At heights
• Noisy and dusty conditions
• Outdoor work in a fast-paced environment
• Physically demanding tasks, including handling heavy loads
• Work under pressure with a large workload

Qualifications

• Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
• Experience: 3 to less than 5 years
• Languages: English
