Job Overview

Our client is seeking a Restaurant Assistant Manager with opportunities for visa sponsorship for international applicants. Candidates from overseas are welcome to apply, with or without a valid Canadian work permit.

Job Details

• Location: Whitby, ON
• Salary: $22.00 to $28.00 hourly (To be negotiated), 35 to 44 hours per week
• Type: Permanent, Full-time employment
• Workplace: On site
• Special Commitments: Evening, Weekend
• Vacancies: 2 positions available

Responsibilities

• Analyze budget to boost and maintain the restaurant’s profits.
• Develop budget to determine cost of food, ingredients, alcohol, kitchen and cleaning supplies.
• Evaluate daily operations.
• Modify food preparation methods and menu prices according to the restaurant budget.
• Monitor revenues to determine labour cost.
• Monitor staff performance.
• Plan and organize daily operations.
• Recruit staff and set work schedules.
• Supervise and train staff; conduct performance reviews.
• Organize and maintain inventory; ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
• Address customers’ complaints or concerns and provide excellent customer service.
• Manage events and assist with workflow.

Qualifications

• Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, or equivalent experience in culinary arts/chef training, restaurant/food services management, or human resources development.
• Experience: Experience in a similar role is an asset.
• Certificates: Smart Serve, Safe Food Handling certificate, Food Safety Certificate.
