Your Opportunity:Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN). This position will report to the Unit Manager and will support the medical unit. The RN will be committed to providing open communication and feedback with respect for colleagues, care providers, patients, and families. The RN will also work as a member of a healthcare team, collaborating on the delivery of care to meet the needs of the patients/clients. The RN participates in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care and should expect to work to their full scope of practice. This position offers the opportunity for both personal and professional development within a variety of teams. Your orientation will consist of online learning, classroom time, and buddy shifts to the unit. Extended orientation for new grads is available. The place of work is in a community designated for Canada Student Loan Forgiveness. Our client is a large rural hospital with 3 inpatient units ranging from 16 to 27 beds. The facility also includes an Emergency department, Operating Rooms, an Obstetrical unit, and other community outpatient programs such as Endoscopy, rehabilitation services, Laboratory, and Diagnostic Imaging. Description:As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, as well as teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management – Chapters 1 – 4 and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Strong communication skills both written and orally.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum (1) year employment as a registered nurse in acute care in the last (3) years. Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale. Connect Care experience. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training course.
