Your Opportunity:Our client has an opportunity for an energetic, passionate, and experienced Registered Nurse looking for a change in how care is delivered. As an essential part of this provincial health team, you will provide telephone triage services, offering health advice and information to callers across Alberta. Role Overview:Utilizing clinical software, diverse databases, and clinical protocols, you will evaluate, triage, and counsel patients with diverse and often intricate concerns. Your exceptional patient focus, clinical nursing expertise, and assessment skills will help you deliver high-quality and precise health advice within a contact care setting. You will apply your active listening, adept problem solving, and relevant questioning abilities to assist callers. Your analytical and critical thinking skills are crucial in determining the best care for Albertans. You will thrive in an engaging environment, helping a diverse range of patients in a respectful and sensitive manner.

Description:As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, as well as teach, counsel, and advocate for patients and families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance.

Salary Information:Please note that Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $35.87/hour – $43.82/hour. Once registered as a Registered Nurse, your pay will be adjusted according to the applicable rate.

Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
• If not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of free courses is required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of three to five (3-5) years recent experience as a registered nurse in a clinical setting.
• Experience in clinical areas requiring high levels of independent assessment and triage skills.
• Recent experience working with diverse client populations and clinical issues.
• Able to manage stress in a high call volume contact center.
• Comfortable working with various computer databases with a minimum typing speed of 35 WPM.
• Intermediate computer skills are a requirement.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
• Experience interacting with clients over the telephone.
• Nursing telephone triage experience.
• Mental Health training and/or experience.
