Our client is offering a paid Critical Care Nursing Program in partnership with the Michener Institute, tailored for qualified applicants. If applicants do not meet the outlined qualifications, they will still be considered for a sponsorship opportunity, which can assist international candidates in becoming part of a valuable nursing team.

About the Critical Care Nursing Program

• 11 week course
• Paid full-time hours
• Combination of instructor-led virtual and clinical education
• Formal 3 month mentorship offered after course completion
• Additional in-house opportunities for further certifications after course completion

Position Overview
The Registered Nurse (RN) will exemplify clinical excellence and adhere to the core competencies as determined by the College of Nurses of Ontario. The successful RN will work collaboratively within a healthcare team, committing to lifelong learning and providing exceptional care to a diverse acute medical patient population in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Deliver patient and family-focused care within the RN scope of practice
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including emergency codes
• Maintain consistent practice with entry to practice competencies, standards, guidelines, and legislation
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and all healthcare team members
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to manage complex patient care needs
• Provide ongoing assessments and documentation of each patient’s health status
• Develop and implement individual Plans of Care and evaluate effectiveness
• Support the orientation and mentorship of new staff and students
• Champion safe, evidence-based practices
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities when assigned
• Participate in the development and evaluation of clinical pathways
• Undertake additional duties assigned by management

Qualifications

• Current RN Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Three (3) to five (5) years’ recent critical care nursing experience or Critical Care Certificate
• ACLS certification is preferred
• Strong excellence in both written and verbal communication
• Exceptional problem assessment skills
• Commitment to customer service and teamwork
• Demonstrated individual leadership abilities

Critical Care Sponsorship Qualifications

• Current RN Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Minimum one (1) to three (3) years’ of recent medical and/or surgical nursing experience preferred
• BCLS current certification required
• Current ACLS certification preferred
• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Leadership competencies
• Innovative approach with a willingness to learn
• Strong communication and problem assessment skills
• Commitment to customer service and teamwork
• Demonstrated leadership skills
