Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision making, while also teaching, counseling, and advocating on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance. Your focus will be on providing safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of our client.

Salary Information:

• Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58 /hour – $54.16/hour.
• Rate of pay will be adjusted upon entry into the register of Registered Nurses, in accordance with applicable guidelines.

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
• If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of certain free courses is required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

• ACLS certification.
• Current CTAS certification.
• Strong skills in assessing, planning, providing, and evaluating the care of all patients.
• Evidence of integrity, initiative, and sound judgment as a professional.
• Excellent communication skills with patients, co-workers, physicians, and the public.
• Commitment to promoting a positive work environment.
• Continuous learning and maintaining competency.
• Ability to fulfill the physical demands of the position.
• Good computer skills.
• Preferably 2 – 5 years of current emergency experience.
• Emergency Nursing Certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years ER experience with a charge role is required.
• Ability to manage Cardiac and Respiratory events, Strokes, and Traumas for all age groups.
• Excellent critical thinking and assessment skills.

Education Required:

• CTAS, ACLS, Fundamentals of Emergency Room Nursing (FERN), Connect Care.
• Education costs may be reimbursed for courses deemed applicable to the current position.
• Rural experience preferred.
