An exciting opportunity exists to grow your skills and join a dynamic team within a leading comprehensive cancer facility dedicated to academic research and providing cancer services. The Registered Nurse (RN) will work in a unit with 28 beds, supporting patients under the care of Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology teams. This is an amazing opportunity for the RN to deliver patient care throughout the cancer care continuum.

Using advanced competency skills, the RN will be responsible for treatment modalities, such as delivery of systemic treatment, symptom management, and wound care. The successful candidate will be a key member of the team utilizing the Integrated Collaborative Practice model. The nurse will be working with a progressive team dedicated to our patients, promoting opportunities for continuous learning and career development.

The RN will need to have strong clinical thinking skills, the ability to prioritize competing demands, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within the team to ensure the development, implementation, and ongoing administration of the client care plans. You will be open to mentoring others and model a high degree of professionalism. The nurse will identify and assess the holistic needs of patients and their families and provide professional nursing care by utilizing the nursing process consistent with the philosophy, objectives, and standards of practice.

Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making, as well as teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance.

You will provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.

Compensation:

Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58/hour to $54.16/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the applicable rate according to institutional agreements.

• Hours per Shift: 7.75
• Shift Pattern: Days, Nights, Weekends
• Minimum Salary: $43.26
• Maximum Salary: $59.21

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
• If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five years, completion of required courses is necessary.
• Acute care experience within the past 2 years.

Additional Required Qualifications:

• Ability to perform physical duties, including walking long distances, lifting, and bending.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong time management and prioritization skills.
• Exhibit leadership skills, including mentorship/coaching.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience caring for oncology/hematology patients.
• Experience in administering systemic treatment.
• Understanding of collaborative care principles.
• Experience with wound care and other relevant certifications.
