Your Opportunity:
The Adult Community Services Northgate provides a wide range of addiction and mental health treatment to residents in Edmonton. The ACS program adheres to the Edmonton Zone Addiction & Mental Health Principles of Care, ensuring quality, client-focused, recovery-based, concurrent capability, and culturally appropriate care for those seeking supports/services. Services are offered to clients and their families in the least intrusive and most appropriate manner, including assessment, individual and group treatment, and consultation. Interventions may be conducted in the clinic, community, or in a client’s home, based on identified needs.
In this Nursing position, you will work within an interdisciplinary team to provide individual supportive counselling and case management to clients with a variety of clinical presentations. The nurse engages clients on their caseload in ongoing mental status assessments, including risk assessments and case management, which involves coordination of medication administration, coverage, and other financial assistance for clients with complex addiction and mental health needs. The nurse collaborates with the client’s primary care provider to transition care back to their medical home once stabilized. The ideal candidate will possess excellent knowledge of addiction and mental health assessment and diagnosis, and will be able to navigate both the health system and external stakeholders to ensure service coordination to best meet clients’ needs. This position is set to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, along with teaching, counseling, and advocating on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance.
You will provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of our client.
Pay Structure:
Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58/hour – $54.16/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the pay rate shall be adjusted to the applicable rate for Registered Nurses under our client’s union agreement.
