Your Opportunity:Our client is seeking a Public Health Nurse (PHN) as part of the Edmonton Zone Public Health (PH) team. This generalist role in the Healthy Young Families (HYF) program includes services offered in the Well Child Clinic, School Health, and Healthy Beginnings programs. The PHN delivers public health services through antenatal/prenatal care, routine postnatal care, health assessment, counseling, screening, immunization, follow-up and referral, and health promotion for preschool and school-aged children, families, and adults. The PHN will coordinate care with community agencies and service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide public health services related to families and children.
• Travel within urban and rural communities while delivering services.
• Document continuously in an electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with diverse communities and external service providers.
• Maintain strong analytical, critical thinking, decision-making, and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to carry up to 25lbs and transport heavy/awkward supplies.
• Walk 3-4 blocks and climb stairs to provide services.
• Engage in various physical activities, including sitting and standing for long periods.

• Multi-Site: At or Out of (UNA only)
• FTE: 0.70
• Temporary Employee Class: Temporary Part Time
• Hours per Shift: 7.75
• Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Weekends
• Minimum Salary: $43.26
• Maximum Salary: $59.21

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

• Ability to work in a busy environment with clients of all ages.
• Strong knowledge of computer applications and data entry.
• Experience in interdisciplinary teamwork and communication.
• Recent experience in the Healthy Young Families program.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred.
• CNA certification in Community Health Nursing.
• Experience with preschool-aged children and diverse populations.
• Training in Indigenous Cultural and Sensitivity.
