Our client is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department at Rockyview General Hospital. The successful candidate will work to their full scope of practice while demonstrating excellence in interpersonal communication and written documentation. This role requires a reliable, motivated, self-directed individual who can thrive in a stressful, dynamic environment. Strong assessment skills and the ability to prioritize care are essential, as is the capacity to adapt quickly to a changing workload. Practicing within the Patient and Family Centered Care model, the RN will be sensitive to the needs of patients and families.

Description

In your role as a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide range of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations. You will be responsible for ensuring their safety and well-being while utilizing nursing processes that involve critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making. Additionally, you will teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families, playing a leadership role in promoting a holistic approach to patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
• If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the required courses is necessary.

Additional Required Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience in a critical care or complex medical/surgical acute care setting required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Calgary zone Emergency position.
• Current RGH Emergency trained; other Emergency/UC nursing experience will be considered.
• Experience in Emergency Nursing (ACCN) and relevant certifications in ACLS, TNCC, PALS, ENPC, and CTAS.
