Your Opportunity:

Make a difference in the lives of children and families by joining our client’s team at their pediatric unit. This unit is a 27-bed facility accepting patients from birth to 18 years of age. Patient populations can include general pediatric medicine, neurosurgery, neurology, burns, nephrology, and urology. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for these patient populations. Opportunities for professional growth include participation in unit-based education/safety committees, motivation committees, and various initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide ongoing assessment, care, education, and coordination of services to children, youth, and families.
• Assess physical, psychological, and social needs and plan appropriate interventions.
• Participate in a multidisciplinary team, working both independently and collaboratively.
• Support family-centered care through education and teaching to patients, families, and other stakeholders.
• Develop pediatric skills in a supportive learning environment.
• May be required to work in other care areas of the hospital as needed.

Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a variety of nursing services while ensuring patient safety and well-being. Your role involves utilizing nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making. You will teach, counsel, and advocate for patients and families, supporting a holistic approach to patient care and health promotion. You will provide quality patient and family-centered care reflecting shared values.

Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
• 1+ years of nursing practice in pediatric acute care within the last five years.
• Experience in pediatric medicine, seizure monitoring, nephrology, burns, and urology.
• Completion of relevant pediatric courses and certifications.

Salary and Schedule:

Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58/hour – $54.16/hour. Upon entry into the register of Registered Nurses, the pay rate will be adjusted accordingly.

• Minimum Salary: $43.26
• Maximum Salary: $59.21
