Your Opportunity:Our client provides a dynamic 14-bed level III medical/surgical neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) that cares for high-risk neonates with complex medical/surgical concerns from all over southern Alberta. Working in our unit offers experiences in neonatal neuro-critical care, medical cardiology, and complex general surgery among our areas of expertise. The NICU fosters a culture and camaraderie within a close-knit multi-disciplinary team, celebrating successes and addressing challenges through mutual respect, openness, and support. The successful candidate will coordinate the delivery of nursing care for sick and critically ill neonates in the NICU, participate in family teaching, and provide leadership by collaborating with ancillary and other patient team personnel to maintain professional nursing practice standards in the clinical setting. Maintaining positive working relationships with parents, families, and co-workers while independently managing multiple priorities is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with a strong Family Centered Care philosophy, are required.

Description:As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, while ensuring their safety and well-being. You will utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making while teaching, counseling, and advocating on behalf of patients and their families. In this role, you will support an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance. You will deliver safe, quality patient and family-centered care, reflecting the shared vision and values of our client.

Salary:Provisional Permit Holders will be paid $39.58/hour – $54.16/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the pay rate will adjust to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with our client’s employment agreements.

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
• If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of specific free courses is required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years current ACH NICU experience.
• Active NRP certification.
• Experience in L&D, Pediatric Critical Care (ICU/ER), or pediatric nursing may be considered.
• Must submit a resume with application.
• Must currently be employed as an RN in an acute care setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Baccalaureate degree in nursing.
• Medical/Surgical NICU experience within the last 5 years.
• Minimum 3 years level III NICU experience within the last 5 years.
• NRP certification.
• PICU experience within the last 5 years.
• Completion of a post-basic graduation neonatal certificate.
• CNA Neonatal ICU certification.
• Participation in unit-based committee/group work in the last 2 years.
• Demonstrated Leadership (charge experience, chair of group, teaching).
• Prior experience with Connect Care.
