• Work Setting: On-site, Commercial and Residential
• Salary: $36.75 per hour, for 40 hours per week

Overview

• Languages: English
• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of plumbing systems.
• Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
• Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings.
• Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or welding equipment.
• Schedule personnel, tools, and equipment.
• Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
• Supervise other workers (3-4 people).
• Estimate costs and materials.
• Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shapes and sizes.
