This Physical Therapy II position is part of the dynamic Audiology and Children’s Allied Health program. Based out of our client’s office, the multidisciplinary team consists of Occupational Therapy, Audiology, Case Management, Physical Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, and Therapy Assistants. The pediatric program follows the AHS Rehabilitation Model of Care, primarily focusing on children from birth to 6 years of age, with limited services for those aged 6 through 18. New Graduates are well-supported by the multidisciplinary team and are welcome to apply for this position.

Description

As a Physiotherapist II, you will:

• Provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services.
• Supervise students and team members as assigned.
• Work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing leadership to other healthcare professionals.
• Make day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge, and follow-up.
• Advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership to ensure safe and effective client care.
• Ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, as well as AHS policies and guidelines.
• Coordinate daily operations of an assigned service area and monitor care delivery.
• Identify service needs and assist medical staff with caseload management, including completing chart audits.
• Participate in program development and operational planning.
• Represent the department on committees or programs.
• Make staffing level requirements and workflow decisions in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers.

As the organization transitions to their Provincial Electronic Medical Record (Connect Care), you will be able to share patient information in real-time with senior clinicians to assist in providing high-quality care.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program or bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy with related experience.
• Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous pediatric community service experience is an asset.
