Our client is seeking a Personnel Officer who is dedicated and enthusiastic about staffing and human resources. Visa sponsorship is available for overseas candidates, including support for those with or without a valid Canadian work permit.

Job Details

• Location: Dartmouth, NS
• Work Location: On site
• Salary: $28.00 to $36.00 per hour (To be negotiated) / 30 to 40 hours per week
• Terms of Employment: Permanent Employment, Full-time

Responsibilities

• Identify current and prospective staffing requirements
• Provide information or services, such as employee assistance and counselling
• Prepare and post notices and advertisements
• Collect and screen applicants
• Review candidate inventories
• Contact potential applicants to arrange interviews
• Co-ordinate and participate in selection and examination boards to evaluate candidates
• Notify applicants of results of selection process and prepare job offers
• Advise managers and employees on staffing policies and procedures
• Negotiate settlements of appeals and disputes and co-ordinate termination of employment process
• Determine eligibility to entitlements and arrange staff training
• Recruit and hire staff

Qualifications

• Education: College/CEGEP or equivalent experience
• Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
• Languages: English

Computer and Technology Knowledge

• MS Windows
