Return of Service (ROS)

$10,000 to recent PSW graduates in exchange for a 12-month commitment to work full-time in a long-term care home or within the community.

Status

Part-time days (7am to 12pm)

Qualifications

• Valid Certificate as a Personal Support Worker (PSW)
• RN or RPN
• Nursing student (2 clinical placements completed)
• Valid Developmental Support Worker Certificate
• Foreign-trained healthcare professional – Nurse, Physician

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license and vehicle.
• Current CPR Certificate level C.
• Current immunization record (TB test completed within the past 12 months) is required upon hire.
• Current vulnerable sector check screening is required upon hire.
• Availability to work days (10am to 5pm) including weekends.
• This is a physically demanding position requiring dexterity and the ability to lift to approximately fifty-five (55) pounds, as well as walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, and reaching.

Eligibility for PSW ROS

New Graduates:

• Successfully complete an Ontario PSW training program at an eligible institution, on or after April 1, 2023.
• Begin employment with a participating employer within designated dates.
• Commit to 12 months of full-time employment with a participating employer.

Previous Graduates (NEW):

• Previously trained as a PSW.
• Have not worked in a direct care role for the past 12 months.
• Begin employment within designated dates.
• Commit to 12 months of full-time employment with a participating employer.
