Qualifications to Work as a PSW:

• Valid Certificate as a Personal Support Worker (PSW)
• Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)
• Nursing student with 2 clinical placements completed
• Home Support Level 2 or level 3 from a recognized curriculum
• Valid Developmental Support Worker Certificate
• Foreign trained healthcare professional – Nurse

Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license and vehicle for daily work is required
• Meet immunization requirements – MMR, Varicella, TB, Tetanus, and COVID-19
• Current vulnerable sector check (VSC)
• Current Standard CPR Level C certificate and First Aid
• Availability to work days
• This is a physically demanding position involving dexterity, lifting (up to approximately 55 pounds), walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement

Eligibility for PSW Return of Service (ROS):

• Completed an Ontario PSW training program on or after April 1, 2023, at a public-assisted college, private career college, district school board, or Indigenous Institute that meets the 2022 program standard
• Begin employment with a participating employer between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2026
• Commit to 12 months of full-time employment
