Port Perry, Ontario

Foreign trained Nurses with documentation to support, second-year RPN Students, and third-year RN students are also eligible.

The Work You Will Do

As a Personal Caregiver, you will provide high-quality and compassionate care to your clients on a one-to-one basis in a client’s private home and provide exceptional customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide homemaking services such as cleaning, cooking, laundry, and general household management.
• Provide companionship and/or accompany clients to activities and events in the community.
• Provide personal care service according to directions on the care plan.
• Ensure the emotional, spiritual, physical comfort, and safety of clients are met to the greatest possible extent.
• Help with client-specific activities of daily living (personal assistance tasks).
• Perform specialized, client-specific procedures for which recognized training and current competency can be demonstrated.
• Observe and document client conditions according to company standards; report unusual events or changes in the client’s condition to the immediate Supervisor or to the Office.
• Understand and implement infection prevention practices.

Qualifications

Requirements

• Completion of a formal, accredited caregiver training program and/or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
• Strong knowledge of caregiving principles and customer service.
• Ability to communicate in spoken and written English; French proficiency is an asset.
• Provide high-quality care services with current knowledge of practices for community care.
• Physically assist clients with movement and/or repositioning; able to lift 23 kgs, squat, bend, stand, and reach.
• Reliable mode of transportation; driver’s license and automobile considered an asset.
• Able to produce a clear Criminal background check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
