Job Overview

Position: Nail Care Technician

Work Location: On-site at various beauty establishments in Port Hawkesbury, NS.

Salary: $16.00 to $16.50 per hour (To be negotiated) for 30 to 40 hours per week.

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time. Various shifts including early morning, daytime, evening, and weekends.

Visa Sponsorship: Immigration support potentially available for overseas candidates with or without a valid Canadian work permit.

Job Responsibilities

• Make custom designs for clients.
• Provide general information to customers on beauty products.
• Advise customers on beauty products suited to their coloring and skin type.
• Apply or remove artificial nails and nail art.
• Clean, trim, and polish nails.
• Provide gel and acrylic nail extensions.
• Provide therapeutic foot massage.
• Perform cashiering duties.
• Provide product demonstrations.
• Schedule and confirm appointments.
• Sell establishment products.
• Perform manicures and pedicures.
• Refer clients with unusual skin conditions to physicians.
• Deliver excellent customer service.

Qualifications

Education

• College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, or equivalent experience.

Experience

• 2 years to less than 3 years of relevant experience required.

Certifications

• Manicurist’s provincial licence is required.

Work Environment

• Work settings include esthetician’s salons, beauty shops, and spas.
• Willingness to relocate is preferred.
• Odours may be present in the work environment.
