Purpose of the Role:

The primary purpose of this role is to drive the growth and expansion of new business opportunities within the mining sector by leveraging innovative digital technologies and autonomous solutions. The consultant will play a key role in identifying trends, fostering partnerships, and delivering solutions that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability in mining operations.

Overall Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

Technical Expertise and Thought Leadership:

• Detail-oriented with significant consulting experience and proven network.
• Strong self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Practical consulting experience in scoping, selling, and delivery.
• Experience in the mining sector (surface/underground) is a must.
• Critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex ideas effectively.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
• Desire to expand role and be adaptable to client needs.
• Assists and leads the proposal preparation, execution plans, and budgets.
• Supports a continuous improvement culture and identifies gaps.

Leadership:

• Takes ownership for project success, managing quality, costs, and customer satisfaction.
• Proactively builds a knowledge base of tools and methodologies.
• Leads work process improvements and models safety excellence.

Team Collaboration and Supervision:

• Communicates expertise effectively to peers and customers.
• Leads post-project audits and translates lessons into improvement actions.
• Plans and executes projects through teamwork with other departments.
• Mentors and assists with career development of junior consultants.

Technical Excellence:

• Has the technical knowledge to lead discussions with clients.
• Presents technical papers and publishes articles.
• Able to translate customer needs into project definitions.
• Strengths in areas such as autonomous mobile fleets, robotics, and data analytics.
• Travel as required for various field programs.

Qualifications

Professional Experience:

• A minimum of 10+ years of industry experience.
• Experience at a top-tier consulting firm or in an in-house consulting/business development role.

Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Commitment:

• Ensure HSE requirements are documented and understood by project participants.
• Compliance with HSE procedures.

Results-Oriented and Accountability:

• Achieves results while meeting timelines and pushing for stretch goals.
• Demonstrates accountability for work, ensuring quality is maintained.

Additional Information

For applicants based in the province, the salary range is CAD $119,383.00 to $$175,906. Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant experience, location, and market conditions for the role.
