Job Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled marble setter for permanent, full-time employment. This position offers potential visa sponsorship for international candidates, including support for candidates, with or without a valid Canadian work permit.

Job Details

• Location: Coquitlam, BC
• Work Setting: On-site, commercial, industrial, and residential
• Salary: $36.60 hourly for 40 hours a week
• Terms of Employment: Permanent employment, full-time
• Overtime: Required; Morning, Day, Shift

Qualifications

Education

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience

• 3 years to less than 5 years in the field

Responsibilities

• Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered
• Mix, apply and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives using hand trowel
• Prepare rough plans and sketches
• Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to base
• Align and straighten tiles
• Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools
• Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout
• Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles
• Supervise other workers
• Cut, surface, polish and install marble and granite

Work Environment

• Dusty and noisy conditions
• Physically demanding; handling heavy loads
• Bending, crouching, and kneeling required
• Must have a valid driver’s licence
