About This Team

The Merchandising team develops global product strategies to ensure the right assortment is available to meet guest needs. Their insights into the marketplace dynamics help identify opportunities to maximize demand and deepen guest relationships.

A Day in the Life

The Global Merchandise Manager is responsible for driving the strategic direction of the global merchandise roadmap. This individual collaborates with various teams and is accountable for the global product assortment while developing the merchandising team to maximize profitability and sales.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of Global Merchants, inspiring and guiding them to develop their skills and meet business priorities.
• Support employee development plans and manage team performance.
• Define class strategies based on short-range goals and sales targets.
• Create global seasonal merchandise strategies and roadmaps in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
• Lead the team in building assortment architecture and ensure seasonal KPIs are met.
• Present seasonal merchandise direction to key partners.
• Build a strategic vision for franchises and product lifecycle management.
• Analyze consumer and market insights to refine product strategies.

Qualifications

• BA, BSc, BBA, BComm (or equivalent); specialization in Retail Management is an asset.
• Minimum 8 years of experience, including people management and merchandising.
• Proven ability to coach, mentor, and lead teams.
• Experience with global brands is required.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Understanding of retail math and financial acumen.
• Ability to synthesize marketplace data into product assortments.

Compensation and Benefits Package

Our client’s compensation structure emphasizes pay-for-performance, with a typical hiring range from $129,600 – $170,100 CAD annually. Permanent employees may have access to a competitive annual bonus program and various benefits including:
