Long Haul Truck Driver – Visa Sponsorship Available

Our client is seeking dedicated long-haul truck drivers. Immigration support is potentially available for qualified applicants, making this an excellent opportunity for international candidates.

Job Details

• Location: Surrey, BC
• Work Location: On site
• Salary: $36.60 hourly / 50 to 60 hours per week
• Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time
• Special Commitments: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Overtime available
• Vacancies: 10

Responsibilities

• Professionalism in customer service
• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
• Load and unload goods
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
• Perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs
• Conduct pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections, and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
• Perform preventive maintenance
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption

Requirements

• Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
• Experience: Will train
• Languages: English
• Certificates, Licences, and Memberships:
• AZ class license
• Air Brakes Endorsement
• Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)

Additional Information

• Security and Safety: Valid passport, driver’s validity licence check, driving record check (abstract)
• Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, sitting
• Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
• Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
• Personal Suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, judgement, organized, reliability, team player
