Job Overview: Long Haul Truck Driver

Our client is seeking a Long Haul Truck Driver. This position offers potential immigration support for overseas candidates, with or without a valid Canadian work permit.

Job Details

• Location: Edmonton, AB
• Workplace Information: On-site
• Salary: $36.00 hourly for 50 to 60 hours per week
• Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time
• Vacancies: 3

Responsibilities

• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• Drive lighter, special purpose trucks.
• Load and unload goods.
• Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
• Perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
• Tarp cargo and ensure safety and security.

Qualifications

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• Certificates: Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Driver’s License (Class 1 or A).
• Experience: Experience is an asset.

• Attention to detail, handling heavy loads, and physically demanding tasks are required.
