Your Opportunity:Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position on their Acute Care unit! This large rural hospital allows you to work on all three inpatient acute care units, which range from 21 to 27 beds, with the prospect of working in surgical, medical, and telemetry units. They foster a strong collaborative team environment with Nurses, Physicians, Unit Clerks, and Health Care Aides. This position will report to the Unit Manager and will support the surgical, medical, and telemetry units. The LPN will be committed to providing open communication and feedback with respect for colleagues, care providers, patients, and families. The LPN will also work as a member of a health care team, collaborating on the delivery of care to meet the needs of patients and clients. The LPN participates in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care and should expect to work to their full scope of practice. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level, and policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.
Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:Strong communication skills, both written and orally. Minimum (1) year employment as a licensed practical nurse in acute care in the past (2) years. Preferred Qualifications:Basic Cardiac Life Support, Non-violent Crisis Intervention training courses, Palliative and Wound Care courses.
