Your Opportunity:

Our client is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) as an integral member of the patient care team in a combined facility that includes Acute Care, Emergency, and Long Term Care. The LPN provides direct patient care and support functions consistent with the Licensed Practical Nurse Standards. You will be responsible to the Care Manager and work under the direction and guidance of the Staff Nurse. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop a broad knowledge base and a solid nursing foundation.

Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will be part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level, and company policies and procedures. Your key role will be to provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of our client.

• Length of Shift in weeks: 12
• Shifts per cycle: 42
• Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends
• Days Off: As Per Rotation
• Minimum Salary: $27.58
• Maximum Salary: $36.13

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the relevant licensing body.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

• Monitor, document, report, and respond to changes in the patient’s physical, mental, and/or emotional state.
• Transfer patients, move equipment, walk, bend, and stand frequently during any shift.
• Provide thorough orientation for new staff members following an established checklist.
• Maintain competency through continuous learning, education, and experience.
• Must be able to work shift work.
• Must possess basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Rural experience and med-surg experience preferred.
• ER, ACLS, CTAS would be an asset.
