As a member of the casual relief team, you will work shifts in Mackenzie Place Continuing Care Home Type B units and the Enhanced Care Unit (ECU). The Type B units offer clients a home where they can enjoy privacy and independence, with the comfort of on-site health and personal care supports when needed. The ECU is designed to meet the needs of individuals with dementia and complex behavioral issues, requiring enhanced staffing expertise to provide care and oversight.

In addition to a competitive rate of pay, our client currently offers a Remote Retention Allowance of up to $3,000 annually, non-pensionable and payable on an hourly basis for all hours worked at the basic rate of pay.

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level, and our client’s policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of our client.

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

• Must be willing and able to work in all units supported by the relief team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with the entire age spectrum, including seniors.
• Experience managing responsive behaviors and dementia.
