Our client is a designated supportive living facility with a dementia unit, looking to mentor and support a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join its team in a residential care setting. Located in a vibrant community in east-central Alberta, the facility is surrounded by the natural beauty of the Battle River Valley and offers a rich cultural and recreational environment.

Description

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will be part of an interprofessional health care team, applying nursing processes along with critical thinking and decision-making skills. Your role is central to providing safe, quality patient and family-centered care while embodying the values of our organization.

• Classification: Licensed Practical Nurse
• Union: AUPE AUX
• Unit and Program: Designated Supportive Living IV; Residential Services
• Employee Class: Casual/Relief
• Hours per Shift: 11.08
• Shift Pattern: Days, Nights, Weekends
• Minimum Salary: $27.58
• Maximum Salary: $36.13

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications

• Technical nursing skills competence and a willingness to learn new skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good communication skills and effective interpersonal relationships.
• Able to work in an interdisciplinary team environment and independently to full scope of LPN practice.
• Commitment to maintaining continuing competence through professional development activities.
• Able to meet the physical demands of the position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with RAI-MDS/inter-RAI HC assessment tool and computer charting.
• Experience with Connect Care.
