This position contributes to the care of patients in the medicine program which consists of 14 units and includes the following services: General Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Pulmonary, Hematology, and Geriatrics/Neurology. The program utilizes a collaborative care model (COACT) for patient care and Connect Care by Epic for the patient’s electronic medical record. The program has a team of Clinical Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse Specialists to support new hire orientation, training in specialized areas, and ongoing professional development and initiatives. We strive to utilize evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives to improve patient and family experiences and outcomes.

Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level, and applicable policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of our client.

• Minimum Salary: $27.58
• Maximum Salary: $36.13

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

• Must be able to work to full scope of practice (physically, mentally, and emotionally) on this very busy fast-paced Nephrology Unit.
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift at least 50 lbs.
• Recent acute care Medicine experience required.
