Job Description for Journeyman/Woman Cabinetmaker

Location: Coquitlam, BC

Salary: $28.00 to $35.00 per hour (To be negotiated)

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time

Work Setting: Custom cabinet shop, Industrial, Millwork shop, Residential

Overview

Languages: English

Education: No degree, certificate or diploma required.

Experience: 5 years or more required.

Key Responsibilities

• Study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made.
• Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form a complete unit and reinforce joints.
• Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Prepare, clean, and sand surfaces to be painted.
• Fabricate or repair wooden parts for furniture, fixtures, and other wood products.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables.
• Operate preset special purpose woodworking machines to fabricate wood products.
