Job Overview

Position available in a hybrid work environment (3 days in office, 2 days remote) with flexible hours. This is a business casual dress code role located in Downtown Toronto, easily accessible via public transport.

Purpose of Role

In this position, reporting to the Director, IT/OT Integrations & Global Network Communications, you will optimize and support Operational Technology (OT) systems within the IT context, across various technical domains including mine, plant, and safety systems. You will enable secure and efficient integration of applications between IT and OT, ensuring optimal security for OT applications.

Job Responsibilities

1. Operational Technology & ICS Support

• Provide advanced technical support for OT/ICS environments, including PLCs, SCADA systems, HMIs, DCS, and historians.
• Support authentication mechanisms for OT applications, servers, and end users.
• Lead or contribute to OT application implementations, migrations, and upgrades.
• Conduct system health monitoring, patching, and performance tuning of OT platforms.
• Maintain, update, and standardize documentation for deployment, change control, and operations.
• Provide expert-level troubleshooting and serve as final escalation point prior to vendor engagement.

2. IT/OT Integration

• Collaborate with IT and OT stakeholders to implement and maintain secure connectivity between systems and industrial assets.
• Support the integration of data flows between field systems and reporting tools.
• Participate in the design and deployment of hybrid IT/OT network architectures.

3. Cybersecurity and Compliance

• Implement and uphold cybersecurity standards and best practices in OT environments.
• Support IT security and compliance initiatives for integration with cloud and enterprise systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal governance policies.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams during risk assessments and incident response exercises.
• Operate & maintain OT Asset Management & Vulnerability Management platform.

4. Project & Vendor Management

• Balance ongoing support tasks with project deliverables and deadlines.
• Participate in project lifecycle phases related to OT systems and integrations.
• Support training and knowledge transfer to operations and support teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation for systems, network diagrams, and configurations.
• Manage third-party vendor relationships, ensuring adherence to service levels.

Sustainability Expectations

• Provide guidance and knowledge transfer on IT/OT integration for OT applications.
• Lead global team of administrators in adhering to governance models and security standards.
• Support data security requirements by maintaining strong internal infrastructure security.
• Keep deployment and support documentation up to date.
• Promote the use of monitoring tools and alerts.

Scope of Responsibility & Complexity

• This position requires self-management with minimal supervision.
• Manage relationships globally and represent the function in cross-functional teams.
• Work involves non-routine situations requiring significant modifications to existing methods.
• Must be available as needed to support OT applications and integrations.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

1. Technical Requirements

• Deep understanding of Windows and Linux server administration.
• Proficient in PowerShell and other scripting tools for automation.
• Knowledge of secure data exchange between networks.
• Strong hands-on experience with DCS/SCADA systems.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and industrial communication protocols.
• Experience with network infrastructure in industrial environments.

2. Behavioral & Soft Skills

• Adaptable to evolving priorities in dynamic environments.
• Willingness to work outside regular hours when required.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, or French is a plus.

• Experience with data historians and analytics tools.
• Exposure to cloud-integrated OT systems.
• Experience in global or multi-site environments.
