IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Technician – Fort McMurray, Canada – LMIA Job

Visa type confirmed: Immigration Support Possible

Position Summary:

Our client is recruiting 4 certified IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Technicians to support their projects in Canada.

Work Location:

Primary office locations are in Fort McMurray, Alberta and Kitimat, British Columbia. The role requires frequent travel to various project sites across Alberta and British Columbia.

Terms of Employment:

Type: Permanent, full time
Wage: Hourly wage rate of $51.50 to $57.62 CDN, depending on experience and relevant technical qualifications, straight time. Overtime of 1.5X is payable as per applicable provincial employment standards. Additional bonuses and premiums are payable for evening or night shifts. Eligible for wage increases and bonuses at the company’s discretion in accordance with company policy. Vacation pay is provided at a rate of 6%.
Language of Work: Fluent English skills (written and spoken) are a prerequisite.

Responsibilities:

An IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Technician utilizes specialized knowledge of Rope Access Technology to:

  • Manage the safety of crews engaged in rope access activities
  • Organize work functions specific to rope access jobs
  • Supervise crews performing a broad range of technical and/or industrial services at heights

    • The role ensures compliance with IRATA standards and regulations to ensure the safe and effective performance of work. Responsibilities also include safety management, work site organization and planning, and the supervision of others while performing tasks suspended from ropes.

    Requirements:

  • IRATA Level 3 Certification required
  • A thorough understanding of applicable rope access applications, with knowledge of theory, equipment, rigging, climbing, hauling, and advanced rescue techniques
  • A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience as an IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Technician in various industrial environments
  • Current first aid certification
  • A valid driver’s license is preferred
  • Ability to work effectively within a diverse team
  • Ability to work productively in various adverse conditions
  • Physical and psychological fitness, with the ability to undergo random drug and alcohol testing
  • Compliance with Acuren and/or client-required pandemic policies prior to employment
