Position Summary

Our client is recruiting 4 certified IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Technicians to support projects in Canada.

Work Location

Primary office locations are in Fort McMurray, Alberta and Kitimat, British Columbia. The role requires frequent travel to various project sites across Alberta and British Columbia.

Terms of Employment

Employment Type: Permanent, full time
Wage: Hourly wage rate of $51.50 to $57.62 CDN, depending on experience and relevant technical qualifications, straight time. Overtime of 1.5X is payable as per applicable provincial employment standards. Additional bonuses and premiums are payable for evening or night shifts. Eligible for wage increases and bonuses at the company’s discretion in accordance with policy. Vacation pay is provided at a rate of 6%.

Language of Work

Fluent English skills (written and spoken) are a prerequisite.

Responsibilities

An IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Technician utilizes specialized knowledge of Rope Access Technology to:

• Manage the safety of crews engaged in rope access activities.
• Organize work functions specific to rope access jobs.
• Supervise crews performing a broad range of technical and/or industrial services at heights.
• Ensure compliance with IRATA standards and regulations for safe and effective performance of work.
• Responsible for safety management, work site organization and planning, and supervising others while suspended from ropes.

Requirements

• IRATA Level 3 Certification required.
• A thorough understanding of applicable rope access applications, including comprehensive knowledge of theory, equipment, rigging, maneuvers, climbing and hauling, and advanced rescue techniques.
• A minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience as an IRATA Level 3 Rope Access Technician in various industrial environments.
• Current first aid certification.
• A valid driver’s license is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively within a diverse team.
• Ability to work productively in a variety of adverse conditions.
• Physical and psychological fitness, with the ability to submit to random drug and alcohol testing.
• Compliance with pandemic policies required by the client prior to employment and continued compliance with adaptive policies.
