• Location: Various locations (Cochrane, AB; Calgary, AB)
• Work Location: On site
• Salary: $400,000 annually / 40 hours per week
• Terms of Employment: Term or contract, Full time
• Special Commitments: Day, Flexible hours, 09:00 to 17:00

Overview

Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry, or equivalent experience.

Languages: English

Experience

• 2 years to less than 3 years’ experience is required.

Work Setting

• Private practice.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose diseases and physiological disorders.
• Prescribe medication and treatment.
• Treat diseases and physiological disorders.
• Act as consultants to other physicians.
• Advise patients on health care.
• Prescribe and administer medications and treatments.
• Be the patient advocate.
• Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients’ physical and mental health.
• Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases to government authorities.
• Provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues.

Credentials

• Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
