Job Details

• Location: Oakville, ON
• Salary: $26.00 hourly / 40 hours per week
• Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time

Responsibilities

• Assess clients’ cognitive, social, and emotional barriers to establish adaptation goals.
• Assess physical limitations, orientation abilities, and mobility to establish client rehabilitation.
• Instruct students in reading and writing braille.
• Teach lip-reading, finger spelling, and sign language.
• Use rehabilitative techniques, prosthetic devices, and wheelchairs.
• Assist students in developing life skills and provide job training and support.
• Collaborate with specialists to develop programs for clients’ special needs.
• Develop individualized education and intervention plans to facilitate clients’ objectives.
• Supervise office and volunteer staff.

Qualifications

• Education: College diploma (1 to 2 years)
• Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year
• Languages: English
