Employee Service Specialist – Hybrid Opportunity

Our client is hiring an Employee Service Specialist for a permanent role in their engineering center in Montreal (Saint-Laurent), offering hybrid flexibility (1 day/week remote). This position is open due to growth and provides strong career advancement potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all employees are educated in benefits.
• Respond to and provide timely resolution to questions pertaining to pay, travel, vacation accrual, and other employment inquiries.
• Communicate with payroll team regarding termed employees for proper off-boarding.
• Assist payroll team with timecard collection, manager approval, and communication to internal partners and employees.
• Manage the Unemployment Process including claims and hearings.
• Collaborate with Worker’s Compensation team, Unemployment Representatives, and HR for FLMA, STD, LOA processes.
• Audit PTO packages as applicable.
• Assist with immigration questions and follow up as needed.
• Update PeopleSoft system with employee information as necessary.
• Coordinate the tuition reimbursement process.
• Actively seek opportunities to increase employee engagement and satisfaction.
• Communicate personnel changes, promotions, and terminations to appropriate partners and update systems.

Minimum Education/Abilities/Skills

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Bilingual – English and French required.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a customer service and/or HR-related position.
• Experience in explaining and administering employee benefit plans and PTO/vacation packages is required.
• Proficiency in payroll and HR-related tasks is desired.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to follow-up with employees.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects actively.
• Well-versed in explaining and administering employee benefits.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting base pay: $45,000 – $49,000 CAD
• Annual performance bonus potential: $4,000 CAD
• 18 days of paid time-off (vacation/personal)
• 8 paid holidays
• RRSP and M/D/V benefits
