Job Summary

The Personal Support Worker is an integral member of the home care team, working under the supervision of the Care Coordinator and performing various personal care services to meet clients’ needs.

Responsibilities

• Assistance with personal care and hygiene
• Meal preparation
• Light housekeeping
• Accompany clients on outings
• Shopping and errands
• Medication assistance and reminders
• Ambulation and transportation of clients
• Providing companionship to clients
• Ability to follow care plans
• Documentation and charting

Qualifications

• Personal Support Worker Certificate or equivalent (including foreign-trained nurses or nursing students)
• Current CPR/First Aid training or willingness to obtain
• Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
• Ability to travel around the location territory
• Access to the internet and a mobile phone
