Job Details

Our client is seeking a dedicated floor covering installer. This position is open to candidates, with or without a valid Canadian work permit. Immigration support may be provided for qualified applicants.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Measure, cut, and fasten underlay and underpadding.
• Prepare flooring plans and scheduling.
• Measure, cut, and install carpeting on floors.
• Prepare tenders and quotations.
• Measure, cut, and install resilient floor coverings.
• Prepare and install hardwood floors.
• Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings.
• Conduct tests prior to flooring installations.
• Estimate costs and materials.
• Prepare floors for installations.
• Remove existing floor coverings and contaminants.
• Install carpeting on walls or other surfaces.
• Perform various carpet installations and specialty flooring installations.

Experience and Qualifications

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years in flooring installation.
• Languages: English required.

Work Environment

• Physically demanding job with the need to handle heavy loads.
• Work setting: Residential; environment may be dusty.
