Field Supervisor Ultra-Sonic Rail Testing

Overview
Our client is currently seeking a Field Supervisor for Ultra-Sonic Rail Testing (NOC 22230) in Canada to join their team. This role requires extensive travel across Canada, as well as potentially to the US, while managing a fleet of specialized test vehicles for ultrasonic non-destructive testing (NDT, NDE, NDI) of rail for the railroads.

• Location: 6800 39th Street, Leduc, AB, and at client sites across Canada

• Salary: $74.00 to $79.00 hourly (to be negotiated based on experience) / 30.00 to 48.00 hours per week, overtime averaged over 52 weeks
• Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full time

• Experience: 10 years in a related field with progressive levels of responsibility

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations and performance of detector cars.
• Oversee staffing and scheduling of detector cars.
• Conduct training processes for detector car staff.
• Perform thorough inspections of all detector cars and audit equipment conditions.
• Recommend improvements to enhance performance and efficiency.
• Inspect lubrication and cleanliness of testing vehicles.
• Train employees in ultrasonic inspection procedures.
• Collect and interpret UT data as per testing requirements.
• Ensure safety operation of the hybrid vehicle on rail.
• Conduct quality audits and maintain inspection records.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Nondestructive Testing Certificate.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• High school diploma.
• 10 years’ experience with Ultra-Sonic Rail Testing equipment/systems.
• Previous railroad experience is required.

Travel Requirements

• Extensive travel to all Canadian provinces and US states expected, with tours lasting up to 5 consecutive weeks and 2 days at home between tours. Daily per diem provided for room and board.

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Basic security clearance and criminal record check.
• Pass safety certification and pre-employment medical evaluation.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in various weather conditions and dangerous environments.
• Ability to lift and carry weights as required.
