Responsibilities

• Collect medical information from patients, family members, or other medical professionals
• Examine patients’ health to identify diseases and injuries
• Help patients develop healthy habits and reshape their approach to wellness
• Order laboratory tests and other diagnostic procedures
• Consult with other practitioners about patients’ health
• Prescribe and administer medications and treatments
• Inoculate and vaccinate patients
• Advise patients on health care
• Supervise staff and report diseases to authorities
• Provide counselling to patients and families on health issues
