Job Overview

Position: Estimator, Construction Cost

Location: Richmond Hill, ON

Work Setting: On the road

Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 annually (To be negotiated)

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs.
• Prepare pre-qualification submissions to present clients.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
• Operate CADD and other computer software systems.
• Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads.
• Provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects.
• Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms.
• Utilize quantity take-off procedures.
• Advise on tendering procedures.
• Analyze tenders and recommend awards.

Qualifications

• Education: Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years in commercial, industrial, or residential construction.
• Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate required.

Skills

• Proficiency in estimating packages, MS Excel, and MS Word.
• Ability to coordinate projects and manage timelines under pressure.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong client focus and organizational skills.
