Responsibilities

Tasks

• Assess the children’s development to prepare a tailored learning plan.
• Assist co-workers with housekeeping and cooking duties.
• Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers.
• Develop and implement child-care programs promoting physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
• Maintain daycare equipment.
• Conduct storytelling sessions.
• Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers.
• Communicate children’s overall situation to parents.
• Assist early childhood educators in program execution.
• Lead activities like storytelling and local excursions.
• Maintain records for early childhood educators or supervisors.
• Encourage creativity through art, play, music, and physical activity.
• Engage children in activities such as crafts and storytelling.
• Guide children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
• Prepare snacks and arrange areas for lunch and rest periods.
• Observe and report on potential learning or behavioral issues.
• Submit written observations to early childhood educators or supervisors.
• Discuss children’s progress and issues at staff meetings.
• Understand licensing regulations.
• Establish guidelines for behavior.
• Attend staff meetings to discuss children’s progress and issues.
• Build collaborative relationships with co-workers and service providers.
• Plan activities for school-age children outside regular school hours.
