Our client is seeking an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to join their team. This is a permanent, full-time position located in Whitehorse, YT. Visa sponsorship is available for qualified international candidates, with or without a valid Canadian work permit.

Job Details

• Location: Whitehorse, YT
• Salary: $22.06 per hour, 35 to 40 hours per week
• Work Setting: On-site child care centre
• Vacancies: 3

Responsibilities

• Assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties
• Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers
• Develop and implement child-care programs that support children’s development
• Maintain daycare equipment
• Engage in storytelling and activities
• Communicate with parents about children’s progress
• Encourage children’s creativity through various media
• Observe children’s behavior and prepare reports
• Plan and maintain a safe environment for children

Qualifications

• Education: College diploma or equivalent experience (1-2 years)
• Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
• Must have the following certificates:
  • Child Development Assistant (ECE level 1)
  • Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
